sunliteyes-deactivated20111203- asked: My doctor and I have decided to write up my birth plan when I get to about 28 weeks, I'm 18 weeks right now so I have a lot of time to think it through. But, I do have some concerns and I won't beat around the bush, I don't completely trust doctors. I've been misdiagnosed and has a lot of my needs ignored by them (Canadian healthcare is free so it seems you really get what you paid for here). But my questions are 1. they seem to induce women with some hurry to get the baby out but I want to
Hi!
I’m so glad you took the time to write to me. I am not so familiar with the health system in Canada.. but do you have birth centers? If you feel that your doctor is going to rush you and not give you the time of day i feel there is still time to switch over to a birth center.. if you have them. Doctors are known to induce to get the baby out fast because… they want the bed change, they want more money… and they want to get home for dinner. NO LIE I was just at a birth and the Dr did a c-section and he said as soon as it was over to myself and the parents perfect timing my wife should have dinner on the table as soon as i get home!!!!!!!! I WAS FURIOUS!!! Your positive attitude is AMAZING! you are so right, your body is built for this and YOU CAN DO THIS. do you have a doula? I would suggest getting one because when the dr or nurses say we are going to give you some pitocin now, your doula is by your side saying lauren (I’m assuming that is your name Lol) we talked about this before you did not want the pitiocin do you want to keep trying for this without any meds? and it will reassure you to say NO to the dr. or nurse. You can also labor as long as possible at your home.
As far as music.. any yoga cd’s i always suggest to my patients.. you can probably find relaxation cd’s at walmart or targets.
- So check out birth centers ( see if you feel comfortable making the switch)
- get a doula if you do not have one already
- labor at home
- walmart or target
We’ve got a secret in our culture… Its not that birth is painful… It’s that women are strong”
Good luck!! keep in touch and ask whatever you would like whenever. Also on my website… i have a bookstore they will all with relaxation of birth check them out… my website is at the bottom of this.
